Smokehouse Cream Drizzle
Cool. Creamy. Tangy. The finishing touch for BBQ pizza.
A creamy finishing sauce built with Greek yogurt, a little avocado oil mayo, House Ranch Seasoning, garlic, and lemon.
Designed to drizzle over hot BBQ chicken pizza after it comes out of the oven, bringing a cool, tangy contrast to smoky BBQ sauce, bacon, melted mozzarella, and red onion.
The BBQ sauce already did its job.
The sauce underneath the pizza brings the smoke, sweetness, and BBQ flavor.
This sauce is here for something different.
Smokehouse Cream Drizzle adds a cool, creamy finish that cuts through the richness of melted mozzarella and bacon while balancing the sweetness and smoke of the BBQ sauce.
It's deliberately lighter and brighter than a traditional ranch.
Drizzle it over the pizza after baking so the contrast between the hot pizza and cool cream sauce stays intact.
Recipe at a Glance
Yield: About ¾ cup
Serving Size: 1 Tbsp
Servings: About 12
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Chill Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: None
Ingredients
½ cup plain Greek yogurt
¼ cup Chosen Foods Classic Avocado Oil Mayo
1 tsp House Ranch Seasoning
1 tsp fresh lemon juice
½ tsp apple cider vinegar
¼ tsp garlic powder
⅛ tsp coarse-ground black pepper
1–3 Tbsp Fairlife 2% milk, as needed for consistency
Instructions
1. Build the Sauce
Add the Greek yogurt and avocado oil mayo to a small mixing bowl.
Add:
House Ranch Seasoning
Lemon juice
Apple cider vinegar
Garlic powder
Black pepper
Whisk until completely smooth.
2. Make It Drizzle
Add 1 tablespoon Fairlife 2% milk.
Whisk thoroughly.
Continue adding milk 1 teaspoon at a time until the sauce flows easily from a spoon or squeeze bottle.
The sauce should be thinner than dipping ranch but thick enough to stay where it's drizzled.
Kirby Rule: A finishing sauce should sit on top of the pizza, not run off onto the plate.
3. Chill
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
This gives the herbs in the House Ranch Seasoning time to hydrate and lets the garlic, lemon, vinegar, and dairy come together.
Stir before serving.
🍕 Finish the BBQ Chicken Pizza
Build the pizza with:
Homemade BBQ Sauce → Mozzarella → BBQ Chicken → Red Onion → Bacon → Mozzarella as desired
Bake until the crust is finished, the mozzarella is melted and browned, and the bacon is hot and crisp.
Allow the pizza to rest for approximately 1–2 minutes.
Drizzle Smokehouse Cream Drizzle lightly across the finished pizza.
Start with approximately 2 tablespoons for a 12-inch pizza or 3 tablespoons for a 16-inch pizza.
Serve additional sauce on the side if desired.
Kirby Kitchen Tip: Don't bake the cream sauce. Adding it after the pizza comes out keeps it cool, bright, and creamy against the hot BBQ toppings.
Performance Notes
🥛 Greek Yogurt Builds the Base
Greek yogurt provides tang, body, and creaminess without requiring the entire sauce to be mayonnaise.
It also gives the sauce a fresh character that works particularly well against rich bacon and mozzarella.
🥑 A Little Mayo Matters
The avocado oil mayo gives the sauce enough richness to feel like a proper finishing sauce rather than seasoned yogurt.
We're using considerably less mayo than Greek yogurt.
🌿 Ranch Without Making Ranch
House Ranch Seasoning provides dill, chives, garlic, onion, herbs, and buttermilk flavor.
But at only 1 teaspoon, it stays in the background.
The goal isn't BBQ pizza covered in ranch.
It's a creamy sauce with enough herb character to complement the toppings.
🍋 Acid Cuts Through Richness
Lemon and apple cider vinegar brighten the sauce.
That acidity is particularly useful against:
BBQ sauce + mozzarella + bacon.
The sauce should make the next bite taste better rather than simply making the pizza richer.
Make It Your Own
More Garlic: Increase the garlic powder slightly.
More Tang: Add another small squeeze of lemon.
More Ranch: Increase House Ranch Seasoning by ½ teaspoon.
Thicker: Use less Fairlife milk.
Thinner: Add Fairlife milk 1 teaspoon at a time.
More Heat: Add a small pinch of Firehouse Seasoning.

Kitchen Wisdom
“The BBQ sauce builds the pizza. The cream sauce brings it home.”
For that specific BBQ chicken + bacon + red onion + mozzarella + homemade BBQ sauce pizza, I think this is a much better direction than putting more BBQ flavor into the drizzle. The contrast is what should make the finishing sauce earn its place.
