House Ranch Seasoning
Homemade ranch starts here.
A savory blend of buttermilk, herbs, garlic, onion, and spices that makes fresh, flavorful ranch dressing while bringing classic ranch flavor to vegetables, potatoes, chicken, popcorn, and more.
Keep the seasoning ready. Make the ranch fresh.
Store-bought ranch packets are convenient, but making your own gives you control over exactly what goes into the jar.
House Ranch Seasoning combines buttermilk powder with parsley, dill, chives, garlic, onion, and herbs to create that familiar ranch flavor from simple pantry ingredients.
Use it to make a fresh batch of House Ranch whenever you need it, or use the dry seasoning anywhere you want a little ranch flavor without the dressing.
Once you have a jar in the pantry, homemade ranch is only a few minutes away.

Performance Notes
πΏ More Than Dressing
House Ranch Seasoning isn't limited to making ranch.
Try it on:
Roasted potatoes
French fries
Grilled chicken
Chicken wings
Roasted vegetables
Burgers
Popcorn
Baked potatoes
Homemade dips
π₯ Make It Fresh
Keep the seasoning blend dry and make only as much ranch dressing or dip as you need.
You get the convenience of a ranch packet while keeping fresh ranch only a few minutes away.
π§ Control the Flavor
One of the best parts of making your own seasoning is being able to adjust it.
Want more dill? Add it.
Love garlic? Give it a little more.
Prefer less salt? Reduce it.
The recipe provides the foundation. Your kitchen gets the final say.

Calories: 8 kcal | Protein: 0 g | Carbohydrates: 2 g | Net Carbs: 1 g | Fiber: 1 g | Fat: 0 g

Storage
Transfer House Ranch Seasoning to an airtight container and keep it in a cool, dry place.
Because buttermilk powder is a dairy product, check the storage instructions on the package you're using after opening. If the manufacturer recommends refrigeration after opening, refrigerate the finished seasoning blend as well.
Quick Build: House Ranch
Cool, creamy ranch with a higher-protein foundation.
House Ranch combines plain Greek-style yogurt with a little avocado oil mayo and House Ranch Seasoning for a thick, creamy dressing with classic ranch flavor.
In the Kirby Kitchen, we use homemade plain yogurt made with Fairlife 2% milk, but store-bought plain Greek yogurt works just as well.
The Greek yogurt provides the creamy, tangy foundation while a smaller amount of mayo adds the richness and familiar texture you'd expect from ranch.
Perfect for salads, wraps, vegetables, wings, pizza, burgers, quesadillas, and dipping.
Recipe at a Glance
Yield: About 1Β½ cups
Serving Size: 2 Tbsp
Servings: About 12
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Chill Time: At least 30 minutes
Ingredients
1 cup homemade plain Greek-style yogurt made with Fairlife 2% milk
or 1 cup plain Greek yogurt, store-bought
ΒΌ cup Chosen Foods Classic Avocado Oil Mayo
2 Tbsp House Ranch Seasoning
2β4 Tbsp Fairlife 2% milk, as needed
1 tsp fresh lemon juice
Β½ tsp apple cider vinegar, optional for additional tang
Instructions
1. Build the Ranch
Add the Greek yogurt, Chosen Foods Classic Avocado Oil Mayo, House Ranch Seasoning, and fresh lemon juice to a mixing bowl.
Whisk until completely smooth and evenly combined.
2. Adjust the Consistency
Add 2 tablespoons Fairlife 2% milk and whisk again.
Continue adding milk 1 tablespoon at a time until the ranch reaches your preferred consistency.
For a thicker dipping ranch, use less milk.
For a pourable salad dressing, gradually add more.
Kirby Rule: Don't add all the milk at once. It's easy to make ranch thinner. It's considerably harder to make it thick again.
3. Taste & Adjust
Taste the ranch before making any additional adjustments.
For more tang, add the optional Β½ teaspoon apple cider vinegar.
For stronger ranch flavor, add additional House Ranch Seasoning Β½ teaspoon at a time.
Don't over-adjust it immediately. The herbs and seasonings will become more pronounced as the ranch rests.
4. Chill
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
For even better flavor, give it a few hours.
The resting time allows the dried herbs to hydrate and gives the garlic, onion, dill, buttermilk, and other seasonings time to work their way throughout the dressing.
Stir well before serving.
House Ranch Performance Notes
π₯ Let Greek Yogurt Do the Heavy Lifting
Instead of building the dressing primarily from mayonnaise, Greek yogurt becomes the main ingredient.
The Kirby Kitchen version uses homemade plain yogurt made from Fairlife 2% milk, giving us a creamy and protein-rich foundation.
If you don't make yogurt at home, simply use your favorite plain Greek yogurt.
π₯ Don't Eliminate the Mayo
We're intentionally keeping ΒΌ cup of Chosen Foods Classic Avocado Oil Mayo.
The goal isn't to make ranch as low-calorie as mathematically possible.
A little mayo adds richness and helps give the finished dressing the creamy mouthfeel people expect when they reach for ranch.
πΏ Give It Time
Freshly mixed ranch and chilled ranch don't taste exactly the same.
Right out of the bowl, the dried herbs haven't fully hydrated and the flavors are still separate.
Give it at least 30 minutes before making major seasoning adjustments.
π Build the Tang
The Greek yogurt, buttermilk powder, and fresh lemon already provide plenty of tang.
That's why the apple cider vinegar is optional.
Taste the chilled ranch first. If you want a little more bite, then add it.
